Heat Treatment - ISPM 15
The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) is an
international plant health agreement that aims to protect
cultivated and wild plants by preventing the introduction and
spread of pests.
International Standards for Phytosanitary measure No. 15 - ISPM-15 is a standard that was developed by the IPPC to directly address the concern and need to treat wood materials that ship between countries.
Approved phytosanitary measures significantly reduce the risk of pest spread and introduction through wood packaging material. Having the ISPM-15 mark ensures that all contents have been subjected to heat treatments for safe transportation and shipping.
The Heat Treatment stamp demonstrates that the pallets were placed in a heat treatment chamber and heated to a minimum of 56°C (133°F) for a minimum of 30 minutes per the ISPM# 15 regulations.
